SOURCE-BACKED RECORD · Methodology
How the record is built
One transparent evidence framework, applied consistently to the UPA and NDA governing records.
Facts, objectives, outcomes, assessments
The archive stores each layer separately. Official objectives remain attributed. Enactment or launch establishes an action—not implementation quality, impact or causation.
Selection and completeness
The current edition covers a curated set of major Union-level UPA records for 2004–2014 and BJP-led NDA records through 28 August 2026. It is not a complete ledger of every ministry action, parliamentary measure, state action or foreign engagement.
What ‘public but under-read’ means
The deep dossiers highlight consequential wording in Acts, agreements, judgments and official implementation papers that is public but frequently absent from short summaries. The label never means secret, leaked or unlawfully obtained information. Where a conclusion is analytical, the mechanism and evidence limit are stated.
Cross-government attribution
Institutions such as Aadhaar and GST, and settlements such as the Bangladesh land-boundary agreement, crossed election cycles. These records are attributed to the governments responsible for distinct design, legislative, ratification or implementation stages rather than awarded wholesale to one party.
Manifesto assessments
Assessments describe a defined commitment and cutoff. Substantially fulfilled means the core specified action is documented; partially fulfilled means a material response exists but the commitment’s scope remains incomplete; insufficient evidence prevents a conclusion.
Evidence strength
A indicates primary official evidence; B combines official records with supporting institutional evidence; C is partial or indirect evidence; D means the evidence is insufficient for assessment.
Live economic data
The browser requests consistently defined calendar-year series from the official World Bank API on each visit. A verified 13 July 2026 release is shown if that service is unavailable. These are contextual observations, not causal government scores.
